Here is a plot of the first principal component of the dryer vibrations while drying our comforter/blanket. Each point represents one of ten samples taken during the initial few minutes of the drying cycle. You can clearly see where we started using the new comforter. This principal component is driven by the mass in the dryer. You can see in general the mass decreases (goes up) over the course of the ten samples within each drying cycle. You can see that the new comforter started out much heavier than the old one, and that the comforter is getting lighter over the two drying cycles tested. After a while the freely available lint will be all gone, and it will reach a steady state like the old one.
